My Top 5 Books for Mindset and Performance

I always perform my best when I have a positive mindset. That’s why I ensure that I am constantly looking for the best ways to train my mind. I believe mindset is a choice, so I choose to use it to my advantage.

I’m not really the kind of person to sit down and read a book so for me the best time to fit in mindset training is via audio in the car. This is especially important when I am on my way to training. It ensures I am in the right mindset to perform at my best when I arrive. By using my travel time productively it always sets me up for success.

1. Unstoppable

My thoughts:

This is one of the most recent book I have listened to. It covers everything you need to know about being a game changer. Although I had come across many of the concepts in previous books, it was all a wonderful reminder. This is the perfect book to start with if you are yet to start or are in the early days of your mindset training.

Wow! Every time I listen to this book I get something new out of it. I would have listened to it 20+ times over 6 months. I used it’s concepts to get the best out of every training session, transfer performance in training to competition and put a halt to pre race sickness and nerves. I highly recommend reading/listening!

My thoughts:

Bob shares some truly inspiring comeback stories from athletes across a variety of sports. It helped me start believing in myself again after a long history of injuries. Definitely recommend!

My thoughts:

This book covers everything you need to perform at your best. It starts off slow in chapter one, but after that it’s amazing! There are stories from well known athletes from lots of different sports, all still relatable to anyone wanting to succeed.


How do champions like Lewis Hamilton, Novak Djokovic and Usain Bolt suppress their fear of failure and find the belief to win? How did Michael Phelps and Jessica Ennis-Hill visualise their own future? What exactly is ‘The Zone’? And how do you get there?

Uses some really great analogies to describe how to the mind works and makes you question the norm. I found this a really good way to help step outside my comfort zone.

No matter the shape, color and size of your dream today, all you need to achieve it is your thinking habit—no road is not no way after all.
